Oct. 14 Business Expo
The 12th Annual, Small Business Development Committee’s Business Expo is set for Thursday, October 22, from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm at the Sonoraville Recreation Complex. The event is open to any business operating in Gordon County, with Chamber members receiving a discounted booth fee. Participating businesses have a wonderful opportunity to network with one another and meet all the visitors from Calhoun-Gordon County. There is no admission fee for the event, which typically attracts well over 1,000 visitors.
Oct 15-16 Antique Engine & Tractor Show
Cherokee Capital Fairgrounds, 9:00 to 4:00 p.m., Free Admission and Parking. Enjoy daily parade of power, tractor games for adults, games for children, show memorabilia and food. An old threshing machine will be in operation. All brands, models, implements welcome. Vendors, Exhibits and Demonstrations encouraged. Oct 16 - Frontier Day
Step back into the early 19th century as the buildings and historic grounds of the Cherokee Capital of New Echota come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of frontier life in the Cherokee Nation. All historic buildings will be open for tours and demonstrations such as flint knapping, music, black powder weapons, candle making, printing press demonstrations, open hearth and Dutch oven cooking, and more will be given throughout the day. New Echota State Historic Site is located on State Highway 225 N, Off exit 317 of I-75. 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM $5.00 Children 5 and under free. 706-624-1321.

Oct. 30 Harvest Fest 10 AM - 4 PM
