Aug 21- Tribute to Armed Forces
The August 21, 2010 Concert in the Park will be a tribute to the military, and especially to those serving in the military from Gordon County. Special guest of honor will be Donna Blair, widow of Sgt. John David Blair who gave his life defending our country in 2009. The concert starts at 7:00 and the first part will feature gospel singing groups, and the second half will be a presentation of “Homeland,” and a patriotic musical performed by a choir composed of singers from many area churches in Gordon County. During “Homeland” a special tribute to our military will be highlighted by the presentation of the flags from all branches of the service while the choir sings the theme song for each branch. Bring your lawn chairs and the whole family for this joyful yet heart touching presentation as we salute America and the military that keeps our great country safe. Special seating will be provided for the active military in uniform, or they may sit with their families. 7:00 – 10:00 pm, BB&T Park, free admission. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
